Why I started this crew
I’m Marcus Ellison, owner of Apartment Movers Atlanta. We opened in 2014 on a promise I still keep: the flat price is on paper before a truck leaves the lot — no meter surprises after a Midtown elevator hold, no upcharge because a Buckhead dock ran tight.
I came up on the west side off Bankhead, finished school out toward Marietta, then spent years running high-rise and warehouse crews around Midtown and the Perimeter. Too many outfits floated a lowball, then padded it once the load was strapped down. We built the opposite.
Who shows up at your door
- Around 18 movers on staff — every one W-2, background-checked, and in an Apartment Movers uniform.
- Our own trucks — back at the Marietta Blvd yard each night to get swept, re-padded, and staged for the morning board.
- The same crew loads and unloads local jobs — you’re never handed off to a stranger halfway through.
- Fully credentialed — a Georgia household-goods license for local work, plus our own interstate DOT and MC authority.
The buildings we know
We work high-rise towers in Midtown and Downtown, Buckhead luxury condos, walk-ups and bungalows in Virginia-Highland and Old Fourth Ward, and student housing near Georgia Tech and Emory. Summer heat and spring pollen are constants — we start early and keep pads on through every elevator run.
Names you’ll actually hear
- Priya Nair keeps the office running — quotes, COIs for building management, and the state household-goods paperwork.
- Devon Hartley handles dispatch, setting each day’s truck board across the whole I-285 loop.
- Terrell Boykin is my lead crew chief — high-rise elevator carries, pianos, safes, and Buckhead towers.
- Andre Fontaine takes the interstate work up I-75 and I-85.
- Colby Reyes handles Midtown and Old Fourth Ward walk-ups and loft carries.
What it runs
Close to home you’re looking at $135 hourly for a two-mover truck, $185 once a third joins — pads, dollies, shrink-wrap, wardrobe boxes, and COI prep included, on a one-hour minimum. Once a move crosses state lines, that flips to a binding flat figure locked in writing before the first item loads.
